Thick-It® Thickeners FAQ
Where can I purchase Thick-It Instant Food and Beverage Thickeners?

Thick-It Thickeners can be purchased at any pharmacy. Visit our Where to Buy page for additional purchasing options.

Are Thick-It Instant Food and Beverage Thickeners safe to use with infants?

Per the American Academy of Pediatrics, no thickeners, INCLUDING Thick-It Instant Food and Beverage Thickeners, are appropriate for use with premature infants (born before 37 weeks gestation). We recommend you consult with your Physician before Thick-It products with any infant.

Can Thick-It Instant Food and Beverage Thickeners be used with powdered laxatives and colonoscopy preparations?

Both starch and the fiber in colonoscopy preparations compete for the retention of water.  When you add the starch to the colonoscopy preparation, you actually will see thinning of the product. Therefore it would not be safe for individuals with dysphagia to consume.

We recommend using Thick-It AquaCareH2O Thickened Water with the powdered colonoscopy preps.
